Current Opportunities
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will provide custom detail oriented reports utilizing both traditional and BI reporting tools. This individual will be involved in implementing the goals set forth as they relate to database reporting needs, ETL and report development activities. The role will frequently conduct data analysis, perform detailed database queries and create report solutions needed by business and/or executive operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field or an equivalent work experience.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in database development and support in MS SQL Server environments and reporting packages (SSRS, Business Objects etc.).
- 3+ years of experience with programming (XML, C#/VB .NET in an enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of ETL experience, including SSIS or other BI toolset and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).
- 2+ years of exposure to Tableau reporting and dashboard functionality.
- 3+ analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Develop web applications and web services using .NET/C#
- Develop templates, themes, and skins using CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, and HTML5
- Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog refinements, and sprint planning sessions, having an active role in a cross-functional team
- Perform code reviews from peers and provide necessary feedback
- Understand web security vulnerabilities and how to solve them
- Assist in code deployments.

Preferred: DNN (DotNetNuke), .NET MVC, Unit testing and automated testing tools, CMS experience, RESTful and SOAP-based web services, Content Delivery Networks like Akamai, Understand DevOps, and Security+ certified!
- Understand what the business does and how it is accomplished and key process dependencies that may exist
- Analyze business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows
- Assist in identifying scope of work
- Elicit requirements and document in either a Business Requirements Document format or, as Agile Backlog Items
- Prepare business process maps and high-level work flows
- Create the following documents: Use Cases, Functional Specification, Wireframes, and Report Mock-ups
- Develop Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business owners including appropriate assumptions, acceptance criteria, User details, and non-functional requirements
- Identify business processes for redesign; Determine how to improve existing business process, Identify modifications to automated processes
- Identify complex requirements across systems and business domains
- Understand the integration of processes across domains, scope, charter, plans
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience; communication of business information to a technical audience
- Co-ordinate testing efforts with Quality Assurance
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent
- Data scientist with R programming and data manipulation experience
- Primary language R
- Expert with using existing R packages (dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, shiny and all relevant data manipulation, graphing and reporting packages)
- Experience developing packages in R with a shiny interface
- Experience inputting data from web services and other data sources
- Experience modifying existing R packages to suit client’s objectives
- Preferred experience with surface water quality data and USGS and EPA’s data Retrieval package
- Able to work with the customer to develop a project plan based on business need
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and techniques
- Manage software development projects (define, design, develop, deploy, support)
- Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis, and status reports
- Experience in running stories and issues in issues tracking software and agile management tools
- Oversees and has accountability for the successful completion of the project on time and budget
- Ability to effectively and proactively communicate with internal and external project sponsors and stakeholders
- Practical experience gathering, identifying and documenting software and business requirements; including reviewing and evaluating project activities progress and results to ensure timelines are met
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
- Proven analytical skills while engaged in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Document additions/changes from original requirements and disseminate to client and work teams
- PMI PMP certification (a plus)
- 7+ years’ experience in software development specifically with UI and UX
- Working with business stake holder
- Quick prototyping to do UX steps
- Do web design based upon specs
- JavaScript (Angular2), HTML5 and CSS3
